i love saturdays…

I just wait for Saturday all week long.  I had only two plans for today… #1 make a card and #2 start my bread making process.  I am happy to report at 4:40pm today, I finally finished both tasks with a smile.

I just love the way this card turned out.  Honestly, when I started, I had no clue what I wanted to do.  I did some blog hopping to find some inspiration and loved the challenges at Mojo Monday and Our Creative Corner.

AB4723Our Creative Corner’s challenge was based on inspiration from some harvest like images.  My first reaction was to the sun in this image.  I love the colors and the rolling hills, so incorporated these into my card.

They are also looking for some new people to add to their design team and decided to throw my hat into the ring.

Mojo98SketchMojo Monday had an interesting sketch this week.  I studied this and studied this until I just decided to quit thinking so hard and stay true to my style.  I loved the idea of the circle and decided to use it to highlight my idea of “rolling hills.”

I think in the end the two combined to create a cute little card.  Brings a little sunshine to my Saturday.

Materials

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, DCWV

Patterned Paper: Stampin’ Up!

Stamps: Hero Arts (CL139 Birthday Message), Unity Stamp Co (July KOTM)

Ink: Versafine (black), Copic Markers

Cuttlebug die cut machine: Tiny Bubbles embossing folder, Labels One (Spellbinders)

Other: String, white gel pen (Sakura)

So task #2 today was to start my bread.  I haven’t blogged much about my bread making adventure because it is summer and it is HOT in Arizona.  I don’t like to bake much inside the house (I have a little oven outside I use during the summer, plus the grill to cook).  But, I am in need of some bread, so I pulled out Harvey (my sourdough starter) and we got to work.

IMG_0709aI think the warmth in the kitchen made Harvey supercharged!!!!  We had left the house so I didn’t get to do his second stretch and fold during his rise and he outgrew his bowl!!!!

This will make 3 – 2 pound loaves, so it was a lot of dough!!!!  I punched it down, shaped into three loaves and right now they are in the fridge (to develop flavor) and will bake tomorrow morning.  I’m just so surprised at how active he was after not being used in quite some time.  I’ll let you know how it turns out tomorrow.

Thanks for letting me ramble about my baking and I hope you enjoyed my card.
