{2.18.2011} – friends with flair

Hello Friday Friends!

Did you see all the lovely blogs joining in on the Friends with Flair hop?  If not, you can check out the entire list on the Unity blog.

Do you remember a few weeks back I mentioned I have been on a quest to try different styles and different techniques.  Well, this is one of those cards.

I actually made this one for a publication call awhile ago.  I think I tried to go for the shabby look, maybe?  Whatever style it is, I had fun trying out some gesso.  I painted it straight onto the patterned paper and then tinted it with some acrylic paint for the big fabric flower.  I love the shabby kinda feel the gesso gives to a card.

I used the Moment in Time and Cherish Your Dreams Ippity stamp sets.

So I am at card #56 in my #100 card challenge.  I’m thinking I planned this all wrong!  I forgot about CHA and all the fun goodies that are out now.  Silently taunting me.  Heehee.  Trying to be strong here, but I really need to get that card count UP and soon!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend!  You know what I’ll be doing… making LOTS of cards!  Ha.

stamps: Moment in Time and Cherish Your Dreams {Ippity}
patterned paper: Webster’s Pages
other: Webster’s Pages Bloomer, silk flower, pearls {Kaisercraft}, gesso, Glossy Accents

    I know what you mean about all the goodies taunting you! I “tried” to put myself on a budget this year…yeah…it kinda blew up! It really worked for January…but I will not even say how much money I spent on craft stuff so far this month! It is embarrassing!!

    Your card is gorgeous, by the way! I love the flower!
