{7.16.2012} hey sugar…

Hey Sugar!

Oh boy…  I am really slacking in the blog and blogland visits department.  Why does summer seem to take all the time away???  Thank goodness for my design team assignments or I might go completely AWAL.  Ha.  Naw, that would never happen.  I just love making cards too much. I have LOTS of exciting news I’ll be able to share soon!  Right now, I’m bursting at the seams with excitement and it is killing me.  Ha.

But this news I can share… I met the amazing KIM HUGHES this weekend.  She is the owner and creator of Paper Smooches stamps.  I just adore her cute and punny stamps.  I’ll admit, sometimes I struggle with cute.  Weird right?  Funny how some styles just don’t seem to come easily.  But I still adore them and LOVE to use them.  She is every bit as sweet as I imagined her to be.  I wish I had taken a pictures.  Oh well.  It was exciting just to meet her.

The challenge this week for The Outlawz group are ice cream treats inspired by July being National Ice Cream Month.  I’m not a huge fan of bowls of ice cream, but I do love ice cream on a stick!  Ha.  I prefer novelty ice cream and bars.  So, I pulled out one of my favorite Paper Smooches stamps and paired it with some yummy Dear Lizzy – Neapolitan papers.

I am guest designing this month with the fabulous CAS challenge design team.  You can join us by clicking on the banner above, sign up to join the ning group and EVERYONE will welcome you with open arms.  They are all so sweet.  You can find the CAS challenge group HERE.  Just click the button to join the group and start the fun.  There are some amazing prizes to be one.  Hope you will join us!

That’s awesome that you got to meet, Kim! She’s a sweetheart. I love this card, Lisa! I actually made a similar one last weekend using the Paper Smooches popsicle stamps too! It’s one of my favorite sets. Very cute patterns you chose for them.

OK, I would have acted like a total dork 😉 Love the soft pastels of your card, and you know, generally I’m not a big bowl of ice cream fan either (lactose, boo) but the last few days it’s in the house & driving me crazy.

Congrats on the GDT! That is so cool that you got to meet Kim. It doesn’t look like you struggle with cute at all…the ice cream bars are *so* cute! The strip of pp along the bottom is a great detail.

Your comments really make my day, thank you!
