{2.13.2013} bird inspiration

I am sharing this card on the Unity blog today.

The inspiration came from this image and you can read about how each element inspired me on my Unity post.

I started out with WANTING a heart cutout.  I mean, it just HAD to happen.  Ha.  First, I tried my favorite heart punch, but it wouldn’t reach the spot I needed on the popped up panel.  Then, I remembered my all over the page punch from Martha Stewart.  I swear this is the most INGENIOUS invention.  I wish all my punches were like this.  You really can punch it anywhere.

Once I solved that problem, everything just fell into place.  The gorgeous worn heart background stamp, the bird and love banner.  I added the strips of striped paper to help ground the banner.  It seemed to be floating on the page and not in a good way.  These little strips added just the right balance to the card.

I’ll be back tomorrow for another big day on the blog.
Both Hip Hop and CAS(E) this Sketch!  Woo hoo.

Lisa, your card is fantastic! Love EVERYTHING about it: the birdie, the colors, the paper you used. Wow!

I have the butterfly ‘all over the page’ punch and it’s FAB! Your card is so sweet Lisa, it makes me want to create (maybe I’ll use my punch)!

Absolutely gorgeous! Love all of the elements. Thanks for the tip on the stamp… might need one of those.

Your comments really make my day, thank you!
