[8.14.2014] unity thursday… be inspired

Beware…

Bring on the SPOOK… it is THURSDAY FUNDAY with the Unity design team blog hop.  If you haven’t been hopping along, all the action starts on the Unity blog.  There’s always fun stuff going on.

Let’s check out our new BE INSPIRED challenge.  Did you know we have a new challenge every month???  They start every second Thursday of the month.  You just create however the challenge inspires you with your Unity stamps.  The PRIZE pack is crazy amazing… $100 worth of stamps.  Uh huh, I think you might want to play.

I know, you’re saying, “Halloween already?”  Yep.  We are bringing it on.  Nothing like being prepared.  Ha.  Plus, it is fun.  But you do not have to make a Halloween themed entry, that is up to you.  School is back in session (or soon to be for some of you) and our first holiday will be Halloween.  I have a fun treat bag idea to share with you using the brand new sentiment kit.

{…pick your poison}

Surprisingly, these were quite easy to put together.  All thanks to my Cameo, that machine is a life saver when lots of cuts are needed.  The treat bags, jars, label, web and spider were all cut with my Cameo (files listed below).  I just glued the black cardstock to the bags (after tying on some twine).  Then, moved onto using Pick Your Poison to create the the labels.

2014tip

If you don’t keep glassine bags laying around (like this girl), use wax paper instead.  I cut out the bags using my Cameo and then sealed with a strong adhesive.

For my poison lables, I used various Distress inks to “age” them.  I stamped them on white cardstock and then used my blender tool to add different colors to the labels.  I added orange, purple and green as highlight colors to the different labels to match the twine.  At the end, I used my Spritzer with some Distress markers to add a speckle more of color.  Then, I hand cut out the labels.  I have a PixScan mat coming soon and I have a feeling that would have come in handy.  Heehee.  I popped them up on the jars and then added some rhinestones and glitter glue to finish them off.

** COMMENT PRIZE **
Don’t forget to leave a comment on each blog today.
We’ll be giving away 2 prizes from comments left on the participating blogs.

Here are all the girls hopping today…  just click on the next pretty girl in line.
