Pretty Alcohol Ink Backgrounds for Cards | Save the Crafty Youtuber Video Hop
Save the Crafty Youtuber Video Hop
It’s an exciting day. I’m thrilled to be participating in the Save the Crafty YouTuber Video Hop. The amazing Justine Hovey has coordinated this big event to bring attention to our talented small-time video makers. There is so much inspiration in this hop lineup. Be sure to check out Justine’s post for all the details, because there are lots of great crafters to discover and LOTS and LOTS of prizes to be won. It’s insane.
I’m sharing some fun alcohol ink backgrounds today. They make some amazing cards. I love when an older technique makes a comeback. While I may be new to jumping on the bandwagon, I have been envious of these beautiful background designs for a long, long time. I’m excited to share my perspective and what I have learned while trying out this technique.

These backgrounds are just amazing! Alcohol inks have been around for years but are making a comeback due to the addition of pearl inks. Pearl inks have a beautiful sparkle that adds just another level of beauty to your backgrounds.
You will want to watch the video to see how these backgrounds were created. I have some tips and tricks I learned along the way. You’ll see how the inks move and the tools I love to use to make these backgrounds happen. I also have a few mistakes and tips on how to fix those as well. Oopsies happen and we need a way to still make it work.
This is such a fun medium to work with. I had a blast watching each background immerge. In a way, it is so relaxing and addicting. You just want to keep trying different color combinations, different mixatives, and foils as well. Each background is completely unique and absolutely stunning.
Thanks for joining me today. I hope you are inspired by today’s project to create one of your own. Be sure to join in on the video hop. There are lots of prizes to be won. Visit each channel, watch the entire video and leave a comment. Comments accepted until June 5, 2019. The prizewinners will be announced on June 10, 2019, at Justine’s blog.
