The Card

The Details

I had a background sitting on my desk. As I was coloring this sunflower from Sunflower Wishes, I accidentally bumped some stuff stacked off to the side. A waterfall of spare watercolor background fell down and inspiration hit. I just love this vibrant teal and green background. Check out my Vibrant Spray Ink Backgrounds Post on how to create these stunning watercolor panels. They are so easy to make and to keep on hand.

I trimmed down the watercolor panel just a smidge and adhered it to my card base. Then I grabbed the Distressed Dots background and embossed that in white. It just added a little bit of texture behind the sunflower. To help ground the flower, I added a strip of striped pattern paper and black glitter washi too.

I used Karin markers (Rose Pink, Canary, Ochre and Cinnamon) to watercolor the sunflower. This simple design was so easy to watercolor. For the sentiment, I die cut 3 “happy” die cuts from Blessed & Happy Everything and glued them together into a stack. Just creates the perfect amount of pop. Last, I stamped and trimmed out the wishes sentiment to pop up as well.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you are inspired by today’s project. If you create something, I’d love to see it. Join us in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group to share your card and tag me.
