Foiling Anyone Can Do…

Sometimes a new thing comes out in the craft world that is mind-blowing! Unity Stamp Company and Thermoweb are releasing a brand new product for foiling: Adhesive Transfers. They are pretty darn amazing and so easy to use. Anyone can foil with these as long as you have a die-cutting machine. Yep. That is all you need! I have two cards to share and make sure you check out the video at the end of this post to see how the Adhesive Transfers work plus my tips for foiling using your die-cutting machine.

Card no. 1

The Details

I’m feeling all things nature today. I loved the idea of the foiled sentiment floating in the sky. I can absolutely see this design done in a variety of colors and sentiments. I’m using the Happy and Birthday sentiments from the Unity Adhesive Transfers for this card. Just applied them using my die-cutting machine. You can also use your laminator but I was feeling lazy and didn’t want to pull it out or wait for it to heat up. The results were amazing so I don’t feel you need to even use a laminator to get great results.

I used the Cloud and Waves stencil for some soft lavender clouds using Lovely Lavender by Gina K. Then I layered on the happy sentiment with some Amethyst Watercolor Foil. Isn’t pretty? I popped up the birthday sentiment and added a few Nuvo Drops to finish things off.

For the background on the card, I just stenciled on some soft grey chevrons. I glued a scalloped stitched rectangle directly onto the card front and then popped up my happy birthday panel. I’m loving how the soft colors and layers frame the shiny foiled sentiment.

Card no. 2

The Details

I went for a full nature scene this time using the Woodland Layers stamp set. Using my Misti Tool, I stamped multiple layers of tree lines in some greens and greys. Then, I created a mask for the sun and blended a light halo around it so it would glow like a sunrise. To complete the sky, I used the Cloud and Wave stencil again for a few clouds. Gina K ink colors: Moonlit Fog, Fresh Asparagus, Grass Green, Slate, Black Onyx, Lemon Drop, and Ocean Mist.

Once the background scene was finished, I die cut it down into a stitched rectangle. Time to foil. I trimmed out the Hello and Beautiful sentiments I wanted to use and ran them through my die-cutting machine with the Unity Silver Glitter Foil. So easy to do and with such amazing results.

I added a few cardstock layers to frame that sentiment panel again and added a few black heart sequins to finish everything off.
