Simple Joys

The first card features a charming little tree that gives off major Charlie Brown vibes. I love how the grunge-cut tag pops against a background of twinkling stars pattern paper. The rustic twine bow, complete with a tiny jingle bell, adds a festive but delicate touch—perfect for hand-delivering to someone special.

What Makes This Card Special

• The sweet little tree: The simple, nostalgic feel of this tree adds a cozy, minimalist charm. It is stamped on pattern paper for an easy way to add some interest behind the tree.
• Die-cut tag: Love how the delicate die cuts around the edges create texture and dimension. I love how the grunge cut tags work for both clean and simple or grungy designs!
• Rustic touch: The kraft die-cut branches beautifully frame the tag, adding an earthy, natural element to the card’s design. The twine also adds to that rustic feel and is the perfect element to hold that jingle bell.
• Jingle bell embellishment: The jingle bell is adorable but not ideal for mailing—this is a hand-delivery kind of card!
• Simple Copic coloring: Using just a few marker shades, you can bring the tree to life in minutes. The colors add depth without overwhelming the design.

Bonus Card

If you want to mix things up, try this alternate version! This time, I used a decorative scalloped edge grunge cut die. The same sweet tree takes center stage, but with a “merriest little wishes” sentiment to complete the card. It’s another quick and easy idea to keep your holiday cardmaking stress-free.

Simple Little Changes:

• Change up the Layout: The second card features a beautiful scalloped edge tag at the bottom of the card, adding a softer, more whimsical touch compared to the clean lines of the first card.
• Sentiment placement: Instead of using a small sentiment label like the first card, the second card has the phrase “merriest little wishes” stamped directly onto patterned paper and popped up to balance out the tag.
• Different tag shape: While both cards use tags, the second card opts for a more delicate, lacy tag with die-cut edges, which gives it a more intricate and ornate appearance compared to the simpler tag shape on the first.
