Color Inspiration #50

colorinspiration50

Kristina Werner has been a busy girl with real life (which we can all relate to) and all of her followers have been patiently waiting for a new Color Inspiration challenge.  So when she posted CI #50 on Saturday, I got so excited I couldn’t wait to start… then I saw the colors.  Oh my goodness!!!!  These are SO not my colors.  But it is a challenge right!  I am not the only one who was excited… as I am about to post this, there are already 105 entries.

I immediately went to my patterned paper hoping to find some inspiration.  Oh, I would find red and turquoise or yellow and red, but then somehow green would always sneak into the background.  ARG!!!  Finally, in the back of my stash, the last possible paper pack I had I found my solution.  Sometimes those things you pick up at the dollar spot in Target can be your salvation.

There are some extra details I added to the top leaf patterned paper.  I used my Sakura Souffle white pen to add the dots.  I also used my Sakura Glaze yellow pen to mimic the gloss from the red paper and added the glaze to the leaves.  The paper seemed a bit flat and the pens helped to give it some dimension.  The wood button is actually a brad with some yellow twine tied in the middle.

Materials

Cardstock: Bazzill (dark brown and white)

Patterned Paper: Target Dollar Spot Fall Scrapbooking paper pack

Stamp: Stampendous (Fresh Blossoms)

Ink: Colorbox

Other: The Beadery (twine), Wood Button (Deja Views), Sakura Souffle pen (white), Sakura Glaze pen (yellow)

I like your card and your post about the Target paper pack. It made me laugh. It’s always the last paper you look at that works.

Lisa – I really like the way you put this one together – I’ve never seen the brads that look like buttons – you always find unique goodies! Great work as always!
