Double Take: 2 for 1 Inky Backgrounds + Video

Hello Friends! I’m celebrating with Unity Stamp Company today with a fantastic new release. Whitney had a brilliant idea for a balloon stamp and stencil duo and asked for some help to make it happen. I think we came up with something you are going to LOVE. I couldn’t wait to get inky with it and have a 2 for 1 inky background idea for this new release. Let’s get to it.

Classic Ink Blend

The Details

My first card features your classic ink blend. Super easy to do with a pretty color combo. I love how the orange and green magically appear when you blend. I used oxide refills, but if you have the ink pads, just pick the ink up directly from the ink back with your blending tool of choice.

Then I stamped right on top and embossed in white! That fantastic bundle of balloons looks amazing against that ink blended background. I added a few Nuvo Drops as an accent to add to the party.

Ink Smooshed Leftovers

The Details

Once I was done ink blending, I had leftover ink I just couldn’t waste. Check out the video to see how both backgrounds came to be and how I got a 2 for 1. If you use the ink pads, you won’t have leftover ink. You can smoosh your ink pad on a slick surface instead to try this technique.

Again, I stamped on top of the background, this time in grey and embossed in clear.
