This Cutie Shines With Hot Foil Sparkle + Bonus Tag

Today, I’m all about pairing this cozy watercolored giraffe with a simple background full of hot foil sparkle.

Hot Foil Sparkle

He is just the cutest. I think he needs a name, right? What would you name him? I’m partial to Fred.

He is watercolored with Distress ink and fussy cut out. I left a white edge so he would pop against the foiled background. I love that the starburst plate looks like snowflakes. It is a simple touch that adds so much.

Distress Inks: Antique linen, Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain, Candied Apple, Pumice Stone

Since there was so much hot foil sparkle going on, I paired him with the “sparkle on darling” sentiment. You can find this sentiment in stamp form or via printable sentiment strips. You could easily switch this sentiment out for winter wishes or a sparkly thank you card.

Bonus Tag

I didn’t want to waste the leftover foil that I had used to create the starburst background, so I decided to make a tag with it using my favorite holiday greeting and tag dies. I used a solid plate to stick it onto white cardstock and then used more Aura foil for the ‘happy holiday’ greeting. It was all about creating texture and hot foil sparkle. The foil was the sparkle and I used Tim Holtz Distress Texture paste with a stencil to create a textured plaid pattern. I’m pretty tickled with how it turned out.
